A Nigerian man has sought advice online after alleging that a 17-year-old houseboy brought into his home to care for his five-year-old son sexually abused the child.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the man explained that his wife brought the teenager into their home to assist with taking care of their young son. He said he had been responsible for the teenager’s school fees, transportation and other basic needs.

However, the father claimed that he later discovered that the teenager had allegedly been sexually abusing his son. Following the discovery, he said he reported the matter and had the teenager arrested.

Seeking opinions from social media users, the man said he was faced with the difficult decision of whether to allow the teenager to face the consequences of the alleged offence or forgive him.

“My wife brought in a 17-year-old houseboy to be taking care of our 5-year-old boy. I pay this boy’s school fees, transport and everything he needs,” the man reportedly said.

He added that he later discovered the alleged abuse and had the teenager arrested, but wanted advice on whether he should pursue the matter or forgive him.

“I later discovered he was sexually abusing my boy. I have arrested him, but I need your advice. Should I let him go to prison or should I forgive him?” he asked.

The account has generated concern online, with discussions focusing on the safety and wellbeing of the child and the need for the matter to be handled through appropriate legal and child-protection channels.

The allegation remains the man’s account, and the teenager’s side of the story was not included in the information provided.
