Wike disclosed this information on Monday in Abuja after a closed-door meeting with contractors managing various projects in the FCT.

While some state governments have confirmed the receipt of N2 billion from this allocation, with the remaining N3 billion pending, Wike mentioned that the FCT had initially been excluded from the N5 billion palliative.

The situation changed after he submitted a memo to President Bola Tinubu, informing him of the situation.

According to Wike, President Tinubu has approved the allocation for the FCT, ensuring its inclusion in the palliative initiative.

Although the FCT is yet to finalize its plans for utilizing the N2 billion palliative, Wike highlighted the significant considerations of food and transportation support.

He underscored the importance of easy and affordable transportation, particularly urban mass transit, in the daily lives of residents. While acknowledging the value of food assistance, Wike emphasized the need to address transportation challenges for sustainable benefits.
