FCTA Orders Workers Back To Duty After Court Ruling

In response to the court ruling that suspended the ongoing strike by the Joint Union Action Committee (JUAC), the Acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Nancy Sabanti Nathan, has directed the immediate implementation of attendance registers across all FCT departments.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The circular, dated Tuesday, January 27, instructs all Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments to maintain daily registers to track staff attendance, following a ruling by Justice E. D. Subilim of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria.

Justice Subilim had granted an interlocutory injunction restraining JUAC members from continuing the strike, noting that industrial action must cease once disputes are before the court.

Building on the court’s directive, Nathan urged full compliance, instructing all staff across secretariats, departments, and agencies to return to their duty posts without delay.

While enforcing the judicial order, Nathan reassured staff of the FCTA’s ongoing commitment to employee welfare.

“The Management wishes to reiterate its commitment to the welfare of staff and the need to maintain continuity in public service delivery,” the circular stated.

She added that the attendance registers will help restore administrative order and support compliance monitoring in line with the court’s ruling.

The directive has been circulated to all Mandate Secretariats, Area Council Coordinators, and Permanent Secretaries, who are to notify all personnel immediately.

Nathan emphasized that total and immediate compliance with the court order is expected, warning that any dereliction of duty would not be tolerated under the new directive.
