At the same event, Mr. Laoye Jaiyeola, CEO of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), raised concerns about the country’s low human capital indices in education and health outcomes.

He stressed the urgency of addressing these challenges for the overall progress of the nation. The shortage of skilled medical professionals due to brain drain exacerbates the existing healthcare infrastructure gap, making it difficult to meet the healthcare needs of the population.

The Permanent Secretary highlighted that the annual summit serves as a vital platform for dialogue among policymakers, corporate leaders, organized private sector, civil society organizations, and development partners.

He noted that the summit has played a crucial role in promoting development planning in the country and has significantly contributed to the formulation of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2021-2025 and the Nigeria Agenda 2050.
