Federal Government Unveils Plan To Boost National Economy
The Federal Government has announced significant economic progress, with the Excess Crude Account reaching $473.75 million and the stabilization account exceeding N28.7 billion. Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, disclosed these figures at the 142nd National Economic Council (NEC) meeting chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima in Abuja.
According to a statement by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, Vice President Shettima attributed Nigeria’s economic improvements to President Bola Tinubu’s financial prudence and transparent governance. Shettima highlighted Tinubu’s role in enhancing Nigeria’s credit outlook as recognized by Fitch Ratings.
NEC also ratified the appointment of six state governors to the Board of Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), underscoring their contribution to national economic development. The meeting addressed various issues including flood management, economic challenges, and security measures in the oil and gas sector.
