During the unveiling ceremony on Tuesday in Abuja, the Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, praised Mogaji as a resilient matriarch and a fierce advocate for women’s empowerment. She described her as a woman who was dedicated to uplifting women and fostering a compassionate society where no one is left behind.

Sulaiman-Ibrahim remarked, “Abibat Mogaji was a testament to the relentless pursuit of her unwavering commitment to the advancement of women. Today, we gather to honor her remarkable contributions to gender inclusion, women’s empowerment, and humanitarian service.”

She continued, “The unveiling of this ICT block is not just a tribute to her legacy, but a reminder of our collective responsibility to continue her work—ensuring the rights and contributions of women are fully recognized and celebrated. We are committed to building a society where every woman and child can reach their full potential with dignity and pride.”

The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, was represented by the wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, who emphasized the transformative power of technology in improving the lives of women. She stressed, “Access to information and communication technology is no longer a luxury but an absolute necessity in today’s world.”

Also speaking at the event, Asabe Vilita-Bashir, Director General of MBNCWD, highlighted Mogaji’s efforts in advocating for women’s economic empowerment and grassroots development. She added, “Let this ICT block serve as a constant reminder of the importance of inclusivity in our programs and policies moving forward.”

The naming of the ICT block after Abibat Mogaji reflects a significant step in honoring her lifelong dedication to empowering women and advancing their role in society.
