Through consistent efforts, we’ve managed to impact over 15,000 Nigerian youths, empowering them to delve into film production and music videos.”
Williams emphasized that many youths yearn for meaningful engagement, and by introducing them to scripts, arts, stage design techniques, set construction, lighting, and other aspects of the industry, they can become productive members of society.
He noted that these aspiring talents often lack mentors or guidance, and the film ministry plays a pivotal role in helping them improve their skills.
However, Williams also called upon the government to invest in the facilities of government-owned polytechnics and universities, citing the scarcity of training resources and equipment as a challenge.
“Numerous students from polytechnics and universities seek us out for further professional training post-graduation.
We receive invitations from institutions, including Samuel Gboyega University and Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), to train their students. Our involvement in initiatives like introducing the first convocation film production at OOU has garnered positive responses from both the former and current Vice Chancellors, showcasing the significance of filmmaking in theatre arts and mass communication studies.”
