Nollywood veteran Amaechi Muonagor has been laid to rest in his hometown of Obosi, Anambra State, amidst profound grief from family, relatives, and the Nollywood community.

The burial ceremony was attended by notable figures including Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 Presidential candidate, and Dom Onyenji, Anambra State’s Commissioner for Culture, Tourism, and Entertainment. Peter Obi, in his condolence remarks, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the icon and offered prayers for the repose of his soul.

Dom Onyenji acknowledged Muonagor’s significant contributions to Nollywood, highlighting his mentorship of younger stars and lamenting the industry’s loss of a creative personality.
