During the extensive operation, five individuals suspected of involvement in the kidnapping were apprehended. The suspects identified as Usman Jelili, Mohammed Bande, Abubakar Aliu, Isah Abdullahi, and Suleiman Abdullahi initially claimed to be Fulani herdsmen. However, investigations revealed that none of them had any cattle in their possession during the arrest.
Confirming the arrest, DSP Abutu Sunday, the spokesperson for the command, stated that the items recovered from the suspects included two motorcycles, one cutlass, one jackknife/dagger, and four phones.
This proactive operation reflects the commitment of law enforcement agencies and local groups to ensuring the safety and security of residents in Ekiti State. The collaboration between various security forces and community organizations underscores the determination to root out criminal elements and maintain a peaceful environment in the region.
