Omashola has provided clarification on the occurrence of fake money being sprayed at his wedding reception.
The former Big Brother Naija contestant tied the knot in December 2023, where guests were required to exchange real money for fake notes before showering the couple on the dance floor.
In light of Idris “Bobrisky” Okuneye’s recent six-month jail sentence for currency misuse, Omashola has explained that his decision to avoid money spraying at his wedding was due to his foresight.
Sharing videos from his wedding, he expressed on social media: “Consider me a symbol for the EFCC’s campaign against currency misuse… I recall introducing the use of face masks in 2020 before the onset of COVID-19 in Nigeria; people mocked me. Similarly, during my wedding in December 2023, accusations arose regarding fake money spraying. I insisted there were valid reasons behind it. Gratefully, justice has now prevailed for some time. Lessons are being learned.
