In a viral video, Dokubo warned that the governor would face more serious issues than Boko Haram if he did not stay clear of his business. He alleged that the governorship election that brought Fubara into power was rigged.

Dokubo defended his legitimate job for the government, stating that he should not be walking around without security, considering that even the governor and state security heads move with security personnel.
