Na’Abba had previously undergone medical treatment abroad, staying there for several months before recovering and returning to Nigeria. The family has announced that the late Speaker will be laid to rest in Abuja today in accordance with Islamic rites.
The late Na’Abba, who was once a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, secured the party’s candidacy for Kano Municipal Federal Constituency during the April 1999 general elections, emerging as the Speaker of the House of Representatives following the political turmoil that led to the exit of the first Speaker of the Fourth Republic, Salisu Buhari.
He pursued his education at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he studied political science and graduated in 1979.
