Neighbourhood watch officers operating in Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have successfully detained four individuals suspected of engaging in the theft and vandalism of transformers across different parts of the nation.
The apprehension of these suspects, who reportedly originate from the South South Zone of Nigeria, occurred on the morning of Thursday, April 18, 2024, during an attempted transformer heist in the Akpoha vicinity of Afikpo.
The suspects’ scheme was thwarted when the vigilant neighbourhood watch team, under the leadership of Mr. Michael Urom (known as Acho Paddy), caught them red-handed.
It has been disclosed that the group also included another individual, who managed to evade capture and is believed to be from the Akpoha area.
