According to Naija News, the announcement was made in a letter signed by Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, the APC Chairman in Edo State, addressed to Governor Obaseki.

Dated October 14, 2024, the letter states: “I write to acknowledge the receipt of your letter requesting the Governor-Elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to initiate the formation of a transition team to work with your side. We look forward to a smooth and effective collaboration with our 24-member Committee, chaired by Chief Pius Odubu, to facilitate meaningful discussions that will ensure a seamless transition process.”
