Fresh Faces, New Era: Gov Aiyedatiwa Unveils 12 Commissioner Nominees In Ondo State

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has submitted the names of 12 commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for confirmation. This was made known on Thursday through a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Ebenezer Adeniyan, who confirmed that the list had already been sent to the legislature for consideration.

In the official letter accompanying the list, Governor Aiyedatiwa urged the lawmakers to treat the request with urgency.

“I will deeply appreciate the Honourable House’s swift action on this request in the best interest of our dear state,” the governor wrote.

One of the prominent nominees is Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, a distinguished academic who previously served as Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, and as Rector of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic.

• Mr. Omoyofunmi Segun Henry

Reacting to his nomination, Prof. Ajibefun told Punch via text message that he felt honored by the appointment:

“This is yet another opportunity to serve our state. I see it as a call to duty, and with God as my strength, I am ready to give it my utmost best.”
