Umahi made the remarks on Wednesday during the flag-off ceremony for the construction of the Akwanga–Jos Superhighway.
The minister alleged that Obi lacks a proper understanding of governance and accused the former Anambra State governor of using social media to score political points instead of presenting a balanced picture of government projects.
According to Umahi, Obi recently photographed a damaged section of the road during a visit and shared the image online without acknowledging the ongoing intervention by the Federal Government.
He argued that such actions reduce serious governance issues to political theatrics and unfairly portray the efforts of the government.
Umahi also claimed that Obi’s comments amounted to personal attacks on his integrity and character.
The minister concluded by challenging the former Labour Party presidential candidate to a public debate, saying he was prepared to defend his record and discuss issues of governance.
“I saw his social media when he got to a point where the road was bad, and he snapped it. When did governance reduce to comedy? He was attacking my integrity and personality. I’m always ready to debate with him,” Umahi said.
