Friends Mocked Him As Simp After Giving Girlfriend ₦4.7 Million, Now Wedding Is On The Way

A young Nigerian man is reportedly preparing to marry his girlfriend after she helped transform his ₦5 million betting winnings into a business and savings, despite facing criticism from his friends over his decision to hand her most of the money.

According to Bush Radio Academy, a neighbour who shared the story revealed that the man won approximately ₦5 million from sports betting in March and informed his girlfriend about the unexpected fortune.

The woman reportedly asked him to transfer ₦4.7 million into her account, warning that she would end their relationship if he refused. The man eventually agreed and transferred the money to her the following day while they were at the bank.

According to the neighbour, the woman carefully managed the funds by investing ₦1 million in mutual funds with assistance from an account officer at Stanbic Bank.

She reportedly used the remaining money to rent a shop and stock it with food items. She also employed two workers, one of whom was her boyfriend.

The neighbour explained that the woman later gave the man the remaining ₦300,000 from his betting winnings to purchase foodstuff for his kitchen, allowing him to use any leftover money to continue betting.

However, when the man shared details of the arrangement with a friend, the information reportedly spread among his social circle, prompting some of his friends to mock him and describe him as a “simp” for handing over such a large amount of money to his girlfriend.

Despite the criticism, the couple’s business reportedly began performing well by October. They also had money invested in mutual funds, although the funds were said to be locked at the time.

The neighbour further disclosed that the couple expected to have enough money available by the following year to cover the man’s rent.

Interestingly, the man has reportedly not won another major betting prize since his March jackpot.

The story took a romantic turn when the neighbour revealed that the man had told her husband about his intention to marry his girlfriend.

According to the account, the couple’s introduction ceremony was scheduled to take place on Saturday, marking a new chapter in their relationship after the reported business success.
