The announcement was made on Wednesday by APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, through his verified (formerly Twitter) account.

Yilwatda explained that the exercise will take place at the ward level nationwide, ensuring grassroots participation and engagement. The initiative targets both existing members, who are required to validate their membership online, and new members who are encouraged to register and join the party.

“All existing members are expected to validate their membership online, while new and intending members are warmly encouraged to register and become part of the progressive family,” he stated.

According to Yilwatda, the e-membership drive is crucial for proper record-keeping, strengthening the party, and ensuring full participation of members in APC activities and decision-making.

He emphasized that maintaining a credible, up-to-date membership register would bolster internal democracy and enhance decision-making within the party.

Describing the initiative as a step toward building a more united and resilient APC, Yilwatda said, “A stronger register means a stronger party and a more united progressive movement.”
