In a podcast with Taymesan, Nons Miraj explained that while the character boosted her popularity, it eventually limited how people perceived her. She felt it was time to evolve and showcase different facets of herself.
She observed that the Ada Jesus persona attracted a particular audience that no longer aligned with her goals. Nons Miraj wanted to reach a broader demographic and create content that reflected more of her personality. She also aimed to form personal connections with people who appreciated her beyond the comedy skits.
“After the whole Ada Jesus thing, I was like, ‘What do I do again?’ because people will get tired of you turning people into yam and fish. I got tired — people were thinking I was old. My followers became old men, and I said I need to do something that will make them see all this fineness,” she said.
“Men were attracted to the Ada Jesus character, but older men. I needed the fine bad boy to enter my DM, spend money on me, and see if we could have a relationship.”
Her decision to move on also reflected her desire to grow her brand and explore projects beyond the character that made her famous. Nons Miraj, who hosts The Hunt Game Show, has established a strong reputation in comedy, acting, and digital content creation. Her Ada Jesus skits were widely celebrated for their humour and memorable performances.
She also discussed the pressures of being in the public eye, noting that many people focus on large deals without understanding the responsibilities involved. Nons Miraj revealed that her work requires substantial investment in projects while balancing personal commitments — challenges that are often overlooked despite appearances of success.
Additionally, she noted shifts in her personal relationships. Some friendships changed due to expectations and feelings of entitlement, prompting her to distance herself from certain friends. She emphasized that while she values her relationships, setting boundaries is essential to protect her energy.
