The suspension, announced on Monday, comes shortly after what many hailed as a career-defining moment for Carter Efe, who recently became Africa’s most-followed Twitch streamer.

Carter Efe’s Twitch channel experienced explosive growth following his December 17, 2025 livestream with Davido, which drew massive attention across social media platforms. The broadcast not only became one of the most-watched Twitch streams by an African creator, but it also boosted his follower count to over 405,000, surpassing fellow Nigerian content creators, including Shank Comics.

However, the celebration was short-lived.

In a statement to his followers, the skitmaker revealed that Twitch had placed a four-month suspension on his account, citing violations of its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. The platform did not specify the nature of the alleged violations, leaving fans and industry observers speculating about what triggered the suspension.

Following the announcement, Carter Efe’s social media pages were flooded with messages of support from fans and well-wishers, many of whom described him as a “joy giver” and urged Twitch to reconsider its decision. Supporters emphasized that his content is primarily meant for entertainment and humour.

Online speculation has suggested that the suspension may have resulted from mass reporting, possibly linked to comments, jokes, or antics during the Davido livestream. Reports that Carter Efe was banned from other platforms were dismissed as false, as his accounts on other social media platforms remain active.

The suspension has sparked disappointment among fans, especially as it coincides with the festive season — a period that could have further amplified the comedian’s visibility and earnings.

As of now, Twitch has not provided a detailed explanation, while fans continue to call for a swift resolution to the matter.
