Olusegun Ogungbemide, the agency’s Public Education Officer, told Sunday PUNCH that the FRSC has introduced new measures to expedite production and distribution in areas with high demand. According to the agency’s recent report, a total of 1,088,956 number plates and drivers’ licenses were produced in 2023. This included 270,231 motor vehicle plates, 230,121 for motorcycles, and 588,604 processed drivers’ licenses.

These figures underscore the increasing need for regulatory compliance as more citizens seek to operate vehicles legally on Nigerian roads. Ogungbemide emphasized that to overcome these challenges, the agency is implementing strategies to improve both production and distribution processes. “The Corps is focused on increasing the supply of production materials and prioritizing the needs of states with high demand to ensure timely delivery,” he stated.
