Fubara made this declaration on Wednesday during the commissioning of health facilities in Khana Local Government Area, following his recent exclusion from the Assembly complex. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the lawmakers’ actions but remained optimistic, stating that he had properly notified Speaker Martins Amaewhule about his visit.
“I still believe that they might receive further instructions. If that happens, I am ready to come any day to resolve this issue,” Fubara said.
Earlier in the day, the governor was denied entry to the Rivers State House of Assembly complex on Aba Road, Port Harcourt, where lawmakers loyal to former Governor Nyesom Wike have been holding sessions.
Fubara, accompanied by key officials such as the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo, and Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, arrived at the complex only to find the gates locked. Speaking to reporters, the governor accused Speaker Amaewhule of intentionally avoiding him, adding that multiple attempts to contact the lawmaker by phone were ignored.
