President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State on Tuesday, suspending Governor Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all elected officials from the state for six months. This decision was upheld by both chambers of the National Assembly on Thursday.

Speaking in an interview with Channels Television, Bob, a former Special Adviser to Wike and current representative of the Abua/Odual and Ahoada East constituency in the House of Representatives, absolved Wike of blame and placed responsibility on Fubara.

According to Bob, Fubara disrespected his fellow elected officials, attempted to remove the Speaker of the state assembly just months into office, withheld lawmakers’ salaries, and even ordered the demolition of the assembly complex.

He stated: “Governor Fubara carries himself with an imperial air, believing he can talk down on people who were also elected, just like him.

“The truth is that within a month of taking office, he attempted to unseat the Speaker of the House of Assembly. When his move was resisted, he withheld lawmakers’ salaries and later went ahead to demolish the House of Assembly complex.

“But instead of acknowledging the facts, people are searching for a scapegoat and unfairly blaming Wike.”
