Funke Akindele Breaks Silence On Alleged Rift, Kamo State Reacts

Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has publicly shown her support for comedian and content creator Kamo State’s debut cinema movie, Starlomo, days after her absence from the film’s Lagos premiere sparked speculation about the relationship between the two entertainers.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Akindele took to X on Saturday to congratulate Kamo State, whose real name is Akinyoola Ayoola, as well as the movie’s director, Kayode Kasum. She also encouraged her followers to visit cinemas and watch the new film.

Akindele described Starlomo as a good movie while wishing the project success at the box office. She further announced that the film was showing in cinemas nationwide.

Kamo State responded by expressing gratitude for Akindele’s continued support, referring to her affectionately as “Iyami” and “Mama.”

The actress’s public endorsement comes shortly after her absence from the Lagos premiere of Starlomo on September 20 generated speculation on social media about a possible disagreement between the two entertainers.

Kamo State had earlier dismissed the speculation, explaining that Akindele was outside the country when the premiere took place. He urged members of the public not to draw conclusions from her absence, stressing that they remained on good terms.

The comedian has previously spoken warmly about his relationship with Akindele, whom he regards as one of his mentors in the entertainment industry. In May, he described their relationship as a divine blessing and credited her influence as an important turning point in his career.

Starlomo, which was released nationwide on Friday, marks Kamo State’s first cinema project. He began his entertainment career as a skit maker alongside his former partner, Ozain, as part of the comedy duo Nepa Boys, before launching his solo career and later transitioning into acting.

He has since featured in several productions, including Warlord, Behind The Scenes, Abanisete, Adunni, Everybody Loves Jenifa and Labake Olododo. With Starlomo now playing across cinemas nationwide, Akindele’s latest show of support has further highlighted the backing surrounding Kamo State’s first major cinema outing.
