Fury Calls On Trump For Special Role In Anthony Joshua Blockbuster Fight
Former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has revealed that he would like United States President Donald Trump to lead him during his ring walk when he faces Anthony Joshua in their highly anticipated heavyweight clash in Cardiff on December 11.
Fury said he plans to extend the invitation to Trump after the pair met at the UFC Freedom 250 event held at the White House in June, following the lifting of the boxer’s travel restrictions to the United States.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Fury described Trump as an old friend and said he would make the offer, although he acknowledged that the US president’s responsibilities could make his attendance unlikely.
Fury and Joshua are set to face each other at the 80,000-capacity Principality Stadium in Wales in what is expected to be one of the biggest all-British heavyweight contests in recent years.
The 38-year-old boxer also dismissed suggestions that the Joshua bout could be his final fight, insisting that he has no plans to retire after the showdown.
Instead, Fury sees the Joshua fight as a stepping stone towards another potential encounter with former undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, who has defeated him twice.
Fury spoke confidently about his current form, saying his recent training sessions with Arslanbek Makhmudov and Mariusz Wach have helped prepare him for the challenge ahead.
He expressed confidence that he remains in excellent condition and is ready to deliver a strong performance when he steps into the ring against Joshua.
