The threat was issued in reaction to a disrespectful comment directed at his mother, Hadiza El-Rufai.

Hadiza had shared her views on the U.S. travel ban affecting Nigeria and three other African nations, noting that many successful Nigerians abroad are of Igbo descent.

Her comment sparked mixed reactions. While some supported her stance, others harshly criticized her. Responding to the backlash, Hadiza stood her ground, saying online attacks wouldn’t deter her from expressing her views.

“No cyberbully can take away my right to express my opinion. Not everything is about politics, though that’s something some of you will never grasp,” she posted on X.

One particularly offensive reply from a user with the handle @jussstice09 read: “You no go die well ma.”

This prompted an intense reaction from Bashir El-Rufai, who, in a now-deleted post, warned that if such a comment was ever repeated, he would locate the user and harm them and their family.

“If you ever utter that phrase to my mother again & delete that tweet, I am going to find you (it’s easier than you think) & unalive you & your family,” he wrote.
