The deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections in Cross River State, Emana Ambrose-Amawhe, has announced her resignation from the party.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a letter dated March 28, 2025, addressed to the chairman of Edem Odo Ward in Akpabuyo Local Government Area, Ambrose-Amawhe declared that her resignation takes effect immediately.

Explaining her decision, Ambrose-Amawhe stated that her choice to leave the PDP was a result of careful reflection on the party’s current situation. While expressing gratitude for the opportunities she had within the party, she emphasized that it was time for a new direction.

“I hereby formally resign my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the party and serve as the Deputy Governorship Candidate in the last general elections,” she wrote.

Although she is stepping away from the PDP, Ambrose-Amawhe reaffirmed her commitment to the development of Cross River State and Nigeria as a whole. She stated her intention to continue serving her community and the nation in other capacities.

“It was an honor to be part of the PDP’s vision and to connect with the people meaningfully. However, after deep reflection on the party’s current state, I believe it is time for me to move forward. This decision was not taken lightly, but I remain dedicated to serving my community and contributing to our state’s and nation’s progress in other ways,” she added.

It is noteworthy that Ambrose-Amawhe was the running mate to Senator Sandy Onor in the 2023 governorship election in Cross River State. She had also previously vied for the House of Representatives seat for the Bakassi/Akpabuyo/Calabar South Federal Constituency under the PDP
