In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje highlighted that the victory reflects the trust the people of Edo have in the APC’s progressive ideology and the leadership of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Okpebholo received 291,667 votes, defeating Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata, who garnered 247,274 and 22,763 votes, respectively.

Ganduje stated, “His victory reflects the trust and hope placed in his leadership, as well as the hard work and resilience of party members and supporters, who ensured a free, fair, and peaceful election.”

He emphasized that under Senator Okpebholo’s leadership, Edo State is poised for remarkable growth, peace, and development, which will transform the lives of its citizens. Okpebholo is expected to uphold the values of good governance, transparency, and service, which are central to the APC’s vision for Nigeria.

Ganduje assured that the APC would continue to support Okpebholo’s administration in realizing the vision of a greater Edo State for all its residents. He also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and the Progressive Governors Forum for their backing, emphasizing that this victory belongs to all the people of Edo.
