Ganduje Warns APC Founding Members: Leave and Become Political Nonentities

He emphasized that any members who defect will become politically irrelevant and lose their influence at the local, state, and zonal levels.

Ganduje made this statement in response to rumors that key founding members of the party, such as Rotimi Amaechi, Nasir el-Rufai, and Kayode Fayemi, may exit the APC. In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment, Oliver Okpala, Ganduje asserted, “If they choose to join another party, they will lose their power at the village, local government, state, and zonal levels because the APC is the party that propelled them into political prominence. The APC remains the dominant force in their regions, and if they depart, their followers will regard them as political has-beens.”

The statement further praised Ganduje’s political foresight, describing his leadership as a key factor in maintaining the APC’s strength. Ganduje’s political skills were credited with solidifying the party’s position as a leading force in Nigerian politics.

Okpala also highlighted the vote of confidence expressed in Ganduje and the APC National Working Committee (NWC) during recent National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings. This endorsement was seen as a clear indication of Ganduje’s exceptional leadership abilities.
