Gen. Cecil Esekhaigbe Distances Self from Fake Rumors, Says He’s Proud of Okpebholo’s 100 Days in Office....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

I, General Cecil Esekhaigbe (rtd.), categorically distance myself from the false and malicious article circulating in some quarters, attempting to insinuate a nonexistent rift between me and the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo. This baseless claim is nothing but the figment of the imagination of mischief makers who thrive on division and discord.

I want to make it abundantly clear that I have no issues whatsoever with Governor Okpebholo. On the contrary, he has justified the confidence I had in him when I supported and endorsed his candidacy. His administration, even in just 100 days, has demonstrated brilliance and a commitment to good governance, which deserves commendation, not unnecessary distractions.

Let it be known that there is nothing I have ever requested from the governor that he has not attended to. Therefore, those spreading falsehoods to serve their own agenda should exclude my name from their distorted narrative.

I have no reason to grumble, complain, or indulge in baseless political lamentations, nor am I a mere town crier. My primary political objective was to see an Esan man become governor in my time, and I am exceedingly satisfied that my choice, Governor Okpebholo, is doing exceptionally well.

I have never, at any point, expressed any feelings of marginalization or exclusion. God’s grace has been sufficient for me, and my support and endorsement of Governor Okpebholo were never based on a quid pro quo arrangement. I remain steadfast in my commitment to the success of his administration, and I call on all well-meaning Edo citizens to rally behind him in prayers and support rather than indulging in falsehoods and unnecessary alarmism.

Anyone who has any issue with the governor should confront it head-on, rather than resorting to dragging my name into baseless subterfuge. I will not be a tool for political jobbers seeking to create distractions where none exist. Governor Okpebholo is leading Edo in the right direction, and I stand by him in his efforts to deliver a greater and more prosperous state for all.
