According to reports, Senator Jibrin stated that while President Bola Tinubu is making serious efforts to tackle Nigeria’s pressing challenges, external factors such as the Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Palestine wars have significantly impacted food prices.

Speaking on Thursday at the Old Parade Ground in Area 10, Abuja, during the defection of Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jibrin, alongside APC National Chairman Umar Ganduje, welcomed Maikalangu and his supporters.

Jibrin urged Nigerians to exercise patience with President Tinubu’s administration and throw their weight behind his policies, expressing optimism that the President would usher in meaningful transformation.

“We’ve long acknowledged that Nigeria was grappling with numerous challenges even before President Tinubu assumed office — from infrastructure deficits to security concerns and energy crises,” he said.

“The President came in with a strong vision to change that trajectory. Unfortunately, international crises like the Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Palestine conflicts have caused a global surge in the prices of goods and services — Nigeria hasn’t been exempted.”

“Despite this, President Tinubu remains steadfast, working tirelessly to set the country on the path of recovery and economic prosperity. Just like Rome wasn’t built in a day, rebuilding a nation requires time and perseverance. I urge everyone to be patient and supportive.”

He assured the public of the President’s commitment to turning Nigeria into a prosperous nation and commended Maikalangu for joining the APC, praising Ganduje’s efforts in strengthening the party across the country.

“The APC will achieve a landslide victory in the FCT and beyond,” he added.
