Once completed, the Dangote Refinery is expected to be the largest single-train refinery in the world, with the capacity to refine up to 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day. It is also expected to produce a range of refined petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, kerosene, aviation fuel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The refinery is expected to crash the dollar rate to Naira as they will be a drastic increase in foreign currencies saved up in reserve. CONTINUE READING
The Dangote Refinery project is part of the Dangote Group’s strategy to diversify its business interests and contribute to the economic development of Nigeria. It is expected to create thousands of jobs and reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imported refined petroleum products.
Construction of the Dangote Refinery started in 2016, finished late last year and will be commissioned on May 22nd, 2023, by President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Efforts by the Federal Government to make Nigeria self-sufficient in local refining of crude oil to save the scarce foreign exchange used in the importation of petroleum products have received a boost as the 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Refinery, the world’s largest single-train refinery, is set for inauguration on May 22nd, 2023, by President Muhammadu Buhari.”
