Despite these efforts, the party decided to suspend Bichi and Commissioner of Transportation Muhammad Diggol due to allegations of abuse of power and disloyalty. According to Daily Trust, Governor Yusuf spent about two hours at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport on Tuesday before his flight to Abuja.
This occurred shortly after former Kano Governor and NNPP leader Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso arrived in the state. Kwankwaso has been engaged in discussions with party supporters, Speaker of the House of Assembly Jibril Falgore, and other political appointees regarding various unspecified matters.
When approached by journalists for comments, Kwankwaso declined to speak, directing inquiries to the party chairman.
Concerns have been growing among some party loyalists and opposition members who advocate for the āfreedomā of Governor Yusuf from what they see as Kwankwasoās controlling influence. This faction claims that Kwankwaso is indirectly managing the stateās operations and dictating decisions. Through radio broadcasts and social media campaigns, they have called on Kwankwaso to allow the governor to carry out his duties as the Chief Executive of the state.
