Earlier, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje asserted that the APC remains the dominant party to beat in the 2027 election in Kano.

Ganduje was surprised by statements made by the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, claiming popular support.

He stated, “I can confidently say that if not for our internal challenges, Kwankwaso wouldn’t have won any election in Kano. This time, the reality will be clear. Those who once supported him are now disappointed and full of regret. Kwankwasiyya is finished, and even the governor is unaware of the current developments.”

In response, Governor Yusuf warned that anyone threatening the people of Kano will face severe consequences.

He said, “Let me make this clear: whoever threatens the people of Kano will bear the repercussions. We are prepared, and I won’t hesitate to take decisive action.

“As for those claiming they will take over power in 2027, let me remind you that power comes from God. It is He who grants leadership, and we pray He entrusts it only to those who genuinely care for the people of Kano.

“No matter how many schemes are devised against us, they will not succeed if God does not will it. We are undeterred and focused on fulfilling our mandate to serve the people.”

Yusuf further emphasized that his administration’s priority is delivering democratic dividends and ensuring the prosperity of Kano residents, not solely focusing on the 2027 elections.
