The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has established a 12-member committee to enhance the health and well-being of its workforce.
The inauguration ceremony was conducted by Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, represented by Dr. Comfort Adeosun, the Director overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office (SWO) within the OHCSF.
Yemi-Esan emphasized the alignment of this initiative with Pillar 6 of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP-25), which aims to enhance staff value proposition by fostering a safe work environment and supporting staff well-being through various interventions.
Furthermore, she highlighted that the Committee’s establishment is a significant stride towards achieving the objectives outlined in the National Policy on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), designed to improve working conditions and workspace standards for employees.
Yemi-Esan stressed the importance of prioritizing safety across all levels and times, announcing an imminent safety audit. She expressed confidence that the Committee members would serve as advocates for safety within the OHCSF.
The Committee comprises members from the Occupational Health Safety and Environment (OHSE) Department and other crucial departments essential for implementing safety and health policies within the OHCSF.
