Reflecting on his tenure as Governor of Anambra State, Obi underscored the importance of people-centered policies and initiatives that foster societal harmony. He criticized the pervasive greed and excessive accumulation of wealth among public officials, urging Nigerians to speak truth to power and avoid idolizing leaders.
Obi stated, “Leaders must utilize public funds for the benefit of the public. During my time in office, I prioritized the judicious use of public resources, ensuring they were directly invested in public welfare. I refrained from personal gain, unpaid pensions, or gratuities, and maintained a debt-free record with contractors. Now in private life, I have the freedom to manage my personal finances as I see fit.”
