Speaking during his monthly media session, “Governor Otti Speaks to Abians,” he clarified that his primary focus is achieving results for the people, not where he operates from.
Otti explained that the delay in moving into the Government House in Umuahia was due to a careful allocation of resources. He reassured the people that the Government House would soon be renovated, not just for his tenure, but for future administrations as well.
Addressing concerns about his current location, Otti stated, “I don’t think you should worry about that. The key thing is that I’m actively working. Abians want to see progress, not focus on where the Governor is based.”
He pointed out that his priorities include ensuring quality roads in Aba and Umuahia, maintaining cleanliness across the state, providing accessible hospitals and schools, and fixing the dilapidated infrastructure.
“I declared a state of emergency on education, health, and infrastructure, not on the Government House. While it’s important, it’s not as critical as the improvements I’ve focused on,” he said, adding that both the Governor’s Lodge and Office were in severe disrepair when he inspected them.
