According to DAILY POST’s reports, these armed individuals, who have been causing havoc in the state and targeting unsuspecting citizens, launched an assault on these communities on Tuesday night, firing shots indiscriminately and resulting in the loss of life among the villagers. Numerous houses were also set on fire during the attack, leading to the displacement of residents.

In response to this tragic incident, Governor Alia, through a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, expressed his strong disapproval of the herders’ criminal actions.

He expressed deep sorrow over how these terrorists are ruthlessly taking the lives of innocent Benue citizens, often for reasons that remain elusive and perplexing.

The governor emphasized that his administration cannot stand by while people are being killed on their farmlands and in their villages for motives that are challenging to comprehend.

While offering his condolences to the families affected by the attacks, Governor Alia called upon the state’s security agencies to promptly apprehend those believed to be responsible for such incidents and bring them to justice.

Furthermore, he urged traditional leaders and youth in the state to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the security agencies.
