During the event, Governor Aliyu addressed the newly sworn-in commissioners, urging them to brace themselves for the challenging tasks ahead.

He highlighted that his administration had inherited an empty treasury and numerous infrastructure in states of disrepair. Aliyu emphasized the importance of transparency and adherence to due process in their official duties.

Stating that his administration was committed to rescuing the state, Aliyu expressed optimism in the capabilities of the appointed commissioners, believing that their collective experience would lead to the fulfillment of citizens’ democratic expectations.

Acknowledging the current economic challenges in the country, Aliyu appealed for patience from the people of Sokoto State, promising that plans were being developed to alleviate the hardships arising from high living costs and soaring prices of essential commodities.

He assured that measures were being devised to mitigate the impact of subsidy removal and challenging economic policies.

Aliyu pledged his dedication to fulfilling the mandate entrusted to him by the electorate and called for unity in prayer to overcome the negative impact of banditry and kidnapping in the state. He implored citizens to extend their full cooperation and support to enable the state to progress.

Following the swearing-in, Governor Aliyu announced the commissioner appointments to various offices. Bello Sambo Danchadi, the former spokesperson of the ruling party, was assigned to the Ministry of Information.
