Governor Eno Expresses Joy as Tribunal Rejects Six Petitions Against Him

Six opposition party candidates had sought to invalidate the governorship election held on March 18, 2023, which Governor Eno emerged victorious in.

Over the weekend, Governor Eno celebrated the tribunal’s judgments, which were delivered successively over the past four days by the three-member Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal led by Justice Adekunle Adeleye. He regarded these victories as a triumph for the people.

Governor Eno stated that these serial victories reaffirmed the will of the Akwa Ibom people, who had freely expressed their choice on March 18. In his appreciation speech delivered in Uyo, the state capital, he dedicated the triumph to God and the people. He also commended the tribunal for carefully assessing all the allegations made against him in the petitions before rendering judgments based on the merits and demerits of each case.

Notably, all six petitions against Governor Eno’s election were dismissed, including those brought by candidates from various opposition parties such as the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Action Alliance (AA), Accord Party (AP), All Progressives Congress (APC), and Young Progressive Party (YPP).
