In a separate incident, former lawmaker Joseph Haruna Kigbu, who represented Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, was abducted by suspected bandits while traveling to Jos on Monday. The abduction occurred around 6:00 p.m. between Nunku in Akwanga Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, and Gwantu in Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

During the attack, the bandits shot and killed the police escort assigned to Kigbu, who had attempted to resist the abduction.
