Governor Yusuf Presents Six Commissioner-Nominees To State Assembly For ApprovalKano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has presented six names to the State House of Assembly for confirmation as Commissioner-nominees. The nominated individuals are Shehu Sagagi, Dr. Dahiru Hashim, Ibrahim Wayya, Dr. Isma’il Dan Maraya, Gaddafi Shehu, and Abdulkadir AbdulSalam.

It’s notable that Shehu Sagagi was appointed as the Secretary and Head of the Secretariat for the Shura Advisory Council, just hours after being removed as the Governor’s Chief of Staff.

Ibrahim Wayya, another nominee, previously served as the President of the Kano Civil Society Forum (KCSF) and is still an active member of the Civil Society sector in Kano. However, he has been accused of partisanship and ties to the administration led by the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

Dr. Dahiru Hashim currently serves as the Project Coordinator for the Kano Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project, a World Bank-funded initiative aimed at combating land degradation and climate change across 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
