Former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has taken a swipe at newly elected governors who openly criticize their predecessors upon assuming office.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking in Abuja on Thursday during a keynote address titled “Showcasing Africa’s Developmental Capacities in the Current Multi-polar Realities,” Ikpeazu referred to such leaders as “lady leaders,” arguing that they ignore the accomplishments of their predecessors and instead focus solely on fault-finding.
He remarked, “Any leader who begins their tenure by claiming everything their predecessor did was wrong is a lady leader. True leadership requires identifying what was done right and building upon it for the good of the people.”
Ikpeazu, who served as governor from 2015 to 2023 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been embroiled in a prolonged feud with his successor, Governor Alex Otti. Since taking office in 2023, the two have traded accusations and public criticisms.
Notably, Governor Otti accused Ikpeazu of mismanaging ₦1.9 trillion during his time in office and subsequently commissioned KPMG International Nigeria Limited to conduct a comprehensive audit of the state’s finances throughout Ikpeazu’s eight-year administration.
