The directive to shut down Prism Steel Rolling Mill and other businesses was given by the tax enforcement team led by Prince Adesola Adewumi, Executive Chairman of OIRS. These companies had previously received harmonized demand notices from the OIRS but failed to meet their tax responsibilities.
Adewumi explained that the businesses’ continued non-compliance despite the state governor’s extension of the deadline led to the decision to seal their premises. He emphasized that all businesses in the state must settle their outstanding tax obligations promptly to avoid further action.
