According to Hundeyin, Pastor Adefarasin appeared at the Police Headquarters in Ikeja, where he is currently being questioned by investigators.
“No one is above the law! Pastor Paul Adefarasin has reported at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is undergoing interrogation,” Hundeyin said.
He added that a formal investigation has been launched into the matter after a video surfaced online, allegedly showing the pastor aiming a gun-like object at another motorist while driving an unregistered vehicle.
Hundeyin assured the public that the findings of the investigation will be disclosed in due course.
The controversy erupted last week after a brief video clip appeared on social media, showing the well-known cleric holding what seemed to be a metallic item during a tense encounter with a man who was recording him on a public road.
The video quickly went viral, leading to widespread speculation that Pastor Adefarasin was brandishing a firearm.
In a swift response over the weekend, Pastor Adefarasin issued a statement via his social media platforms, denying that he was in possession of a firearm and clarifying that the incident had been misunderstood.
“The object in my hand was not a gun. At no time did I point it at anyone,” he stated, without disclosing the exact nature of the object. He also expressed concern about the spread of misinformation surrounding the event.
