Hakeem Baba-Ahmed Tells El-Rufai: Face Allegations Of Stealing Public Funds

Baba-Ahmed made the remarks during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, describing the fallout between Ribadu and El-Rufai as deeply toxic.

He warned that the deteriorating relationship is concerning for Nigeria’s political culture and urged El-Rufai to minimize further damage.

“I am extremely saddened by this development. I know both gentlemen and the depth of their personal relationship, and this is one of the poisonous elements of our politics,” he said.

“If a bond of this nature can be so deeply poisoned, then we are in serious trouble. It is disheartening to see their relationship degenerate to the point that neither seems to consider the consequences, with two friends now threatening legal action against each other.

“Mallam El-Rufai, by nature, is a difficult person to advise. If I were to counsel him, I would say: pick your battles carefully. Focus on limiting the damage and address the allegations of stealing public funds.”
