AIJA News has reported that, during an interview on Arise TV News, Ibe dismissed assertions made by President Tinubu regarding his sole responsibility for building Lagos State………CONTINUE READING
Ibe pointed out that President Tinubu seems to take credit for developing Lagos without acknowledging its history as the Federal Capital for many years, benefiting from resources and infrastructural advancements.
Nigerians, according to Ibe, have been eagerly anticipating the remarkable achievements Tinubu claimed to have accomplished in Lagos. However, he observed that over the past nine months, the President has been engaged in a trial-and-error approach rather than delivering on his promises.
Ibe emphasized that Tinubu’s commitment to follow the path of former President Muhammadu Buhari has raised concerns, as some of Buhari’s policies were contentious among the Nigerian populace.
“I wonder about the origins of the claim that he built Lagos. Now is the time for hard work; let him translate his promises into action. Prophet Tinubu, previously known as President Tinubu, had already discussed this matter back in 2012, as indicated in the mentioned episode. The contents of that discussion could easily apply to the current year of 2024. We have been waiting for the supposed magic that Tinubu possesses.
“Lagos was already a Federal Capital for an extended period, enjoying both resources and infrastructural development. Therefore, I question the assertion that he singlehandedly built Lagos. Now is the time for diligence; let him demonstrate where the attributed magic lies.
“Where is Tinubu’s purported economic team? The past nine months have showcased a trial-and-error economic policy that seems to lack substantial change. We need to inquire about Tinubu’s promises. Tinubu pledged to follow in the footsteps of former President Muhammadu Buhari. What does this entail? Massive borrowing, where loans are taken to pay off interests, Buhari’s legacy of bigotry and nepotism. We thought we had witnessed the worst, but it appears to be a continuation of Buhari’s policies,” Ibe remarked.
