Osimhen, now the most expensive signing in Turkish football history, joined Galatasaray after the club triggered his €75 million release clause.

In an interview with Habersarikirmizi, Kavukcu described the move as the result of unwavering dedication, shared ambition, and a deep emotional connection between the player and the club.

“We had a dream,” Kavukcu said. “My president and I began discussing it back in January. Once we agreed internally, we approached Victor. We told him, ‘We want you to stay with us permanently,’ and he agreed. He asked, ‘Are you really going to make this happen?’”

Kavukcu praised both the leadership’s tireless efforts and Osimhen’s personal sacrifice in making the deal a reality.

“We worked tirelessly with our president and the management team. Victor gave up a lot to join us—many players wouldn’t walk away from such offers,” he noted.

While Osimhen’s footballing talent is well known, Kavukcu emphasized that it was the emotional connection with Galatasaray that truly sealed the transfer.

“The love for Galatasaray is so strong. Our fans created such a powerful image of affection that Victor didn’t want to leave. We wanted him just as much as he wanted us.”

Kavukcu added that the transfer goes beyond sporting ambition—it’s part of a broader vision to elevate Galatasaray to global prominence.

“We didn’t just make a transfer; we took Galatasaray to a whole new level on our journey to becoming a global brand. And we did it without selling a single player.”

With Osimhen officially part of the squad, anticipation is at an all-time high among Galatasaray supporters who have long dreamed of the prolific striker wearing their colours.
