Reports reaching BUSHRADIOGIST indicate that Nigerian Army personnel are currently engaged in a fierce gun battle with bandits led by the infamous Bello Turji in Sokoto State. The ongoing clash is taking place in the Sabon Birni area.
Abdulsalam Suleiman Izuagbe, a senior consultant and public affairs analyst, informed BUSHRADIOGIST on Thursday that the violence has made the route from Shinkafi to Sabon Birni unsafe for travel. He described the situation as dire, stating: “There is a war happening in Sabon Birni; Bello Turji is facing the Nigerian Army as I speak. They are exchanging fire in the area, and the road from Shinkafi to Sabon Birni is no longer safe for anyone to travel. It’s far from business as usual.”
