On Monday, at around 7 am, youths began blocking the busy University Community road, disrupting travel for those heading to Gbajimba in Guma Local Government Area. As of this report, the youths continue to block the road, insisting they will not relent until authorities address their security concerns, preventing the passage of vehicles and motorcycles.
Herdsmen Attack Benue Assembly Members
Gunmen, suspected to be herdsmen militia, attacked members of the Benue State House of Assembly. The incident occurred on Thursday night around 10 pm along Kilometer 16 on the Makurdi/Gboko Road.
According to reports, the Assembly members were returning from a public hearing in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area when the herdsmen opened fire on them. Hon Elias Audu, Chairman of the House Committee on Information and Orientation, confirmed the incident
